Exploring Tim's Tin Shoe Mine: High-Altitude Abandoned Mine Adventure

We undertook the daunting task of hiking high up into some desert mountains to the Tim's Tin Shoe Mine. Located near the top of a ridge, this extremely remote mine was worked in the late 1800s to mid-1900s. Several portals lead into the mine's workings. We descended to a lower level via an inclined shaft in the upper level of the mine. While exploring, we found many relics and artifacts both inside and outside the mine including an old miner's boot, an RPM oil can and newspapers from the 1930s, various pieces of equipment and machinery, and miners' graffiti.
