The Herkules-Wartburg cycle path runs between the Herkules statue in Kassel and the Wartburg in Eisenach. In total, the cycle path is approx. 110 kilometers long. The cycle path leads from the Hercules Monument in Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe above Kassel and leads through northern Hesse to the Wartburg above Eisenach. The Wartburg and the Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe with the Hercules are both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. In this first part of the route, I cycled with my bike from Hercules to Hessisch Lichtenau. A route with many easy climbs through the beautiful half-timbered region of Northern Hesse.
