Check out this new exclusive Steam Next Fest 2025 preview demo from the upcoming Painkiller remake developed in Unreal Engine 4. We captured this work in progress gameplay footage with RTX 5090 and 4K monitor (no commentary). This upcoming game is a modern reimagining of the classic first-person boomer shooter franchise that features cooperative mode, a revamped gothic setting and roguelike elements for the first time. The game will remind you of Doom! Description: You are trapped in Purgatory, condemned for your sins, but the Voice of the Creator offers a chance at redemption. Your mission is to stop the fallen angel Azazel from unleashing his demonic armies upon Earth. This involves battling relentless demonic hordes, including demons with unique powers and the three monstrous Nephilim (Azazel's children). Gameplay Features: Four Playable Characters: You can choose between Ink, Void, Sol, and Roch, each having unique perks that boost attributes like energy, health, power, and damage. Co-op Action: The game is designed for fast-paced action, featuring online co-op for up to three players (in addition to offline play). Classic and New Weapons: You'll wield infernal weapons, mixing both new designs and classics from the series. Rogue Angel Mode: A new mode offering survival in handcrafted randomized arenas with friends, extending beyond the main campaign. Movement: Players can jump, dash, and use a hook to traverse the vast biomes of Purgatory.
