However, we are not ingesting the harmful chemicals that are in Cigarettes. Homeless people will smoke and get ill without the benefit of medical benefits. So is this a health issue? Yes, in more ways than one. Typically when they do not have cigarettes, they will find them on the ground, in the trash or wherever they can find them. You can not say for certain that the person that left their unfinished cigarette is free from an illness. A homeless person is not thinking about their health. They are thinking about the craving for nicotine. We can step in and meet that need and possibly alleviate an outbreak of various illnesses that can be contracted through saliva. The ultimate goal is to bring down the craving for nicotine. While allowing our fellow human being not to feel more separated from society than they are. Let's not discount our homeless friends.
