Two US veterans were arrested in Washington after interrupting a Senate Foreign Affairs hearing to accuse lawmakers of backing Israel’s genocide in Gaza. “There’s a genocide. You’re all complicit,” shouted Anthony Aguilar and Josephine Guilbeau as security dragged them from the chamber. Aguilar, a retired Green Beret and whistleblower, had worked at US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation aid distribution sites, where he documented abuses by both US and Israeli personnel. As the pair were restrained, they continued to shout: “The U.S. Congress is paying for the death of children. Stop slaughtering babies.” Aguilar warned: “When the United States Congress comes after veterans, they will come after you. Every American needs to realize you are paying for genocide. Guilbeau added: “Rise up. America. It is beyond time.”
