AUDIO-ONLY INTERVIEW: Billy Jam produced HipHopSlam Radio show (with engineer Scuds McKenzie) on KUSF October 6th 1991 excerpt includes bit of "rap news" + interview with M.C. Ant (also written as MC Ant). The early era Oakland rapper born Anthony Jerel Thomas rose to fame in the late 80's with the local 12" hit single "Dance Floor" from the 1988 album "M.C. Ant The Great" that was produced in the most part by a (pre-Too $hort collaborating) Ant Banks and released by Raw Dog Records. By the time of his 1991 follow-up release "The Come Back 91" (around the time of this interview) he had left Raw Dog and released his then new album on Tomohawk Records. MC Ant collaborations on other artist releases included with Spice-1 and Dangerous Dame. In early 1999 MC Ant was murdered in Nevada. On the Facebook page dedicated to the late great Oakland hip-hop artist the following is written: "Anthony J. Thomas Sr. was born to the proud parents of Wiley J. Sr. and Shirley Thomas of Oakland, Ca. As you all know. Our brother/son is no longer with us. His life was taken away Super Bowl Sunday,Jan. 31, 1999 at approx 3:15 AM in Sparks, Nevada……he was shot to death by a man named Michael Mc Neil. He took one gun shot wound to the heart and it hit his aorta. That's the main artery. We were told he didn't suffer. A shot like that was death instantly, but the young lady Dawn who was also shot was able to bring our hearts to a mend when she live to tell the story as it happened. She was shot and had a collapsed lung but was able to tell the paramedics and policemen who did this to them. R.I.P MC ANT........
