GTR Bosses Old & New All Think Southern Rail Is The Best Train Operating Company On The Network After the recent news that GTR boss David Brown stated that Southern Rail services now rank among the "best in the world", we look back at some more broken promises from other bosses who thought similar things. Former Southern Rail boss Chris Burchell stated "I think we have the potential to be the best train operating company on the network" "Think like a passenger" was the catchy line they used then but what would they say now? How about "Lie to the passenger"? We, as the users of this railway, know the truth and the only reason that Southern Rails performance has improved in the statistics table is through the padding out of the timetable so that regular delayed or late running trains now show as arriving at their destinations "on-time" even though many of the journeys now take much longer than they did before!
