INSTAGRAM:   / travellerashish11   This is the 2nd episode of Kedarnath yatra (Travel series), i have done 16 kms trekking from Gaurikund to Kedarnath temple. This video has every detail about the Kedarnath ji ki Yatra. This is the 3rd Jyotirlinga of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva in India. Following is the summary of distance to be traveled in this yatra. Sonprayag to Gauri kund: 5kms, Rupees 50 per person on jeep. Base camp is 1 km short of Shri Kedarnath Temple. Garhwal mandal vikas nigam has their Guest house and tent facility at Base camp. GMVN Accommodation Booking : https://gmvnonline.com/trh-filter.php While its not impossible to go and come back in a day to Sonprayag but difficulty level is high especially if you don’t have high energy level. Services for travel to Kedarnath ji: You can take helicopter services that cost around 7700/-, this can vary between 7000 to 8000 depending upon the distance from Sonprayag.Flight time from a place near Sonprayag to Kedarnath ji is 6 to 8 minutes. For Helicopter Booking : https://heliservices.uk.gov.in Helipad is at a half a km from Shri Kedarnath Temple. If you want to hire a porter or a person with a basket or if an old person wish someone to carry him on Doli, these facilities are readily available. Best time to travel to Kedarnath ji - 15th August to 30th September. Avoid travel in the month of May because its crowded. Kedarnath Trek Distance The trek to Kedarnath around 16 km trek which starts from Gaurikund till Kedarnath. The trek has changed since the 2013 flood disaster in Uttrakhand and since then the 14 km trek to Kedarnath has increased to a 19km trek. Route Map of the Kedarnath Trek The Kedarnath trek is a 16 km trek which starts from Gaurikund. Earlier the route followed was from Rambara, it was a well developed, well fenced and a facilitated trek route. However the Goverment has now changed the trek Route of Kedarnath after the 2013 disaster as the old trek route to Kedarnath was completely erased.
