Best Choke For BOSS Steel Reserve Duck Ammo | 10 Tested

What is the best choke tube for BOSS Steel Reserve waterfowl hunting ammunition? In this review I tested 10 different choke tubes of different constrictions to see which produces the best patterns at 40 yards, 30, yards, and 20 yards. I used Carlson's sporting clays chokes in Cylinder, Modified, Full and Extra Full, as well as Carlson's Cremator Chokes in Close, Mid, and Long range, and a set of Muller Chokes in Decoy, Passing, and UFO. In short, the modified choke produced the tightest pattern at all ranges, however it is was too tight for close range hunting, and steel shot is not particularly effective at long range. No choke tube company has ever incentivized me with chokes, money, or any other compensation to make content with their products. However, Carlson's and Muller have gifted me some chokes over the years for testing, including the ones used in this video. This load was 1 1/8 oz in a 3" shell of #3 shot traveling at 1500 FPS using my Mossberg 940 Pro Waterfowl with a 28" barrel. This ammo was very effective and compares favorably to Kent Fasteel, HEVI Steel, MIGRA Steel, Federal Speedshock, and many other steel loads.
