Day 13 I recently bought this lot of drives and I had to make a video of it. 15 Untested SCSI drives for 30€, 3 "bad" IDE drives for 6€, 8€ shipping & site fee for a total of 44€ (2€ per drive without shipping, 2.44€ with shipping), I couldn’t say no. But will they work? Let’s find out! Beware, spoilers for the results below! -------------------------------------------------- Well this lot sure went really good didn’t it? Only 3 of the SCSI drives not working in the end, with two being a duplicate of one that did work, and those IBMs are from the same era as the 75GXP, or as some would say it are a "10k RPM 75GXP" so it isn’t too surprising. The "bad" IDE drives including a perfectly good 6GB Toshiba was unexpected, and while the Maxtor isn’t great it still works good enough to demonstrate. I’m not sure why my attempted PCB fix on the Fujitsu didn’t work out. I've discussed with @bigbluebananabread and will give him the HDA eventually as he has one of those that has a bad HDA but a good PCB for it (as you know from the Japanese lot video, he gave me drives for free himself so why not give him that HDA if he can make use of it, considering the other MPB3032AT I borrowed the PCB from works perfectly) Some of those drives blew me away, they sounded really amazing! I’m going to post some of the drives from that lot in the next few days. Interested by hard drives? Join my discord server! :) / discord
