On July 4, 2025, at approximately 11:45 AM, I, CPL. Bob Love #208 attempted to stop a purple Dodge Charger bearing Arkansas plate #AXB65L on Interstate 530 near the 30-mile marker that had approached me from the rear at approximately 90 miles per hour. The operator of this vehicle, later identified as John Robert Stevenson, JR. (hereafter Mr. Stevenson), initially accelerated his speed and fled from SGT. T. Harris as SGT. Harris attempted to stop him for a traffic violation on U.S. Highway 65 B, nearing Interstate 530. Mr. Stevenson noticed me and accelerated his speed after passing me on the left shoulder, starting to flee from me. I initiated my emergency lights and sirens and began to pursue Mr. Stevenson. Mr. Stevenson began passing vehicles on the paved shoulder and veered in and out of traffic while continuing to pass on the shoulder at speeds exceeding 150 miles per hour. The highest speed I was able to obtain on Mr. Stevenson was 158 mph in a 75 mph speed zone. I started, losing sight of Mr. Stevenson, and it appeared he took exit 24 North (Jefferson NCTR). Once I finally reached exit 24, I proceeded to take the exit onto Stagecoach Road and traveled east. I reached the intersection of State Highway 365 and Stagecoach Road, turned left, and traveled north. With no further visual confirmation, I terminated the pursuit. I proceeded along State Highway 365 to search the area in case the suspect vehicle was still nearby, but to no avail. Later, Troop E Dispatch advised me that the vehicle Mr. Stevenson was fleeing in was on Interstate 530 North, near the 7-mile marker. Troop A then actively engaged in pursuit with the vehicle. Following a lengthy pursuit through Pulaski and Saline counties, Mr. Stevenson wrecked and was taken into custody by ASP troopers in Troop A.
