During The ICE in St. Moritz I filmed this unique Ferrari 365 GTC/4 Felberg Beach Car. The Ferrari 365 GTC/4 Coupé Pininfarina was completed in October 1972. The chassis structure was manufactured by William Vaccari in Modena, Italy. Pininfarina Body No. 302 was built and then sent for final assembly at Carrozzeria Scaglietti S.r.l., also in Modena. Chassis number 16017 was the 416th of 500 examples in the 365 GTC/4 Coupé series, produced between 1971 and 1972, with chassis numbers ranging from 14179 to 16289. The Tipo F101AC 000 engine and crankcase were manufactured at Ferrari SEFAC (Società Esercizio Fabbriche Automobili e Corse), while the aluminum-silicon (silumin) cylinder heads were cast at the Ferrari foundries in Maranello, Italy. Once completed, the Tipo F101AC 100 chassis was paired with its F101AC 000 engine- engine number 025-during assembly at Ferrari SEFAC's factory in Maranello. This car followed assembly sequence number 290. The original exterior color of chassis 16017 was Oro Kelso 2.443.214 Italver, paired with a Pelle Nero Cogolo VM 8500 Connolly leather interior. Once completed, the car was delivered in October 1972 to SAVAF, the official Ferrari importer. It remained with its first owner until 1975, when it was sold to Willy H. Felber, a well-known Ferrari agent and owner of Haute Performance in Morges, Switzerland. Felber was not only a Ferrari dealer but also a car manufacturer specializing in bespoke creations. Around the time of the purchase, Felber received a special commission from Sheikh Khalifa Bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, who wanted a custom-built Ferrari 365 GTC/4 designed specifically for the Persian Gulf. Willy Felber sent chassis 16017 to Italy, where he entrusted the project to Giovanni Michelotti, the legendary master coachbuilder at Carrozzeria Michelotti in Orbassano, near Turin. Over the course of three months, Michelotti designed and built a striking and unconventional one-off two-seater known as the Felber Ferrari 365 GTC/4 "Beach Car", notable for its lack of doors. The bodywork was crafted from steel, and the car's interior was originally specified with a Light Metallic Blue exterior, blue denim upholstery, and blue carpeting. However, due to the economic turmoil caused by the oil crisis, Sheikh Al Thani canceled his order, and the car was never delivered to Qatar. Michelotti subsequently suggested changing the exterior to a Bronze Metallic color, which was agreed upon by Willy Felber. They decided to present this unique creation at the 46th Geneva Motor Show in March 1976. The Felber Ferrari 365 GTC/4 "Beach Car" made its public debut at the Carrozzeria Michelotti stand during the show, where it became an eye-catching highlight thanks to its extravagant design and one-of-a-kind status.
