On February 26, 2025, we had to say goodbye to our beloved mare, Saga. Saga suffered from the same condition as Timber and deteriorated just as fast in the past two months. Touching her caused her immense pain. Something as simple as putting blankets on and off was unbearable for her and dangerous for us. The stress from the pain kept triggering stomach ulcers, which would also cause her a lot of pain. We hoped to give her one last beautiful summer in the pasture, eating grass, but that would not have been fair to her. Her pain had become unbearable and it would only get worse. If we had known how quickly she would decline, we would have let her go together with Timber. We are incredibly grateful for the almost two wonderful years she spent with us. Despite everything her illness put her through, she remained such a sweet and special horse. She didn't want to act the way she did, you could see who she was underneath it.
