Publisher Uta Mueller speaks with awadwinner David Huebert during the 10. Anniversary of the „Atlantic Book Award“-Gala in Halifax. Grown up in Nova Scotia the author of „Peninsula Sinking“ has won the „Jim Connors Dartmouth Book Award.“ The book is a collection of eight short stories with eight different animals. The stories tell about non-human-life and the love of human beings for the nature and the ocean. But human beings as „different animals“ deal in intense moments of conflict with life and love. To do research David Huebert made a boat trip to watch whales and their communication. The Award-winner lives in Ontario, pursuing his PhD about studying animals in American Literature. On May 10th 2018 thirteen winners were announced during a gala ceremony held in Paul O’Regan Hall at the Halifax Central Library. The criteria for the Awards are excellence in writing, readability and acceptance for the audience. More Information: http://atlanticbookawards.ca/
