On this stream I was going through new NSO DevNet lab – Learn NSO the easy way created by Jason Belk. On top of it Hank Preston released NSO DevNet sandbox where you have NSO installed, but also a network topology consisting of IOS, IOS-XE, NX-OS, IOS-XR, ASAv devices up and running so you can use NSO to manage that mock network. I've decided to skip the last two sections dedicated to services because of the lack of time. At some point I will dedicate a separate stream for Services with NSO. Without a doubt, this learning lab coupled with the sandbox are THE BEST learning resources about NSO out there. In a couple of hours it takes you from "I know nothing about NSO" to "I know enough about NSO to approach common network operation tasks and continue learning on my own". I am impressed and I can definitely recommend every network engineer to go through this lab (you can benefit from NSO even if you don't write code!). Timecode: 0:00 – Introduction 1:35 – Announcements 9:40 – What are new NSO resources, what is the plan for the stream 12:50 – Refreshing what NSO is and how it is different to many other products 16:55 – Setting up the environment and creating a new NSO instance 29:45 – Adding devices to NSO and saving current config to CDB (sync-from), grouping devices 1:09:50 – Exploring network configuration using NSO CLI 1:28:50 – Updating network configuration using NSO CLI 2:15:00 – Rollback 2:44:10 – Using device templates for configuration 2:53:50 – Retrieving operational data from network devices 3:07:00 – Network configuration compliance 3:14:50 – Exploring NSO GUI 3:18:25 – Conclusions, summary and wrap-up of the stream Resources: NSO DevNet lab: https://developer.cisco.com/learning/...
