For several years now, the Government of India has established Tribunals/Commissions to protect the rights and interests of consumers against deficiencies in goods and services, as well as against unfair trade practices by suppliers. To further assist consumers in resolving such issues, the Department of Consumer Affairs has a dedicated National Consumer Helpline (NCH) portal: https://consumerhelpline.gov.in/public/, along with a helpline number: 1800114000 or 1915, to register grievances. Resolutions for day-to-day deficiencies in services can be reached through this portal from the comfort of one's home, without the need for litigation.
