Tulips 101 - Design like a Pro! Follow these steps! Remove the leaves that will be in the water. Clean the stem of dirt and any rough areas. You can use a knife to smooth the stem or a vegetable peeler! Align the tulips on the table, keeping the flowers even and stacking them in an orderly fashion until you have used all of your stems. Pay attention to the shape of the stem. If the stem is straight place it in the middle. If the stem has a right bend to it, place it on the right and if it has a left bend then place it on the left. Gather your stems in your hands. While in your hands gently roll the right and left side towards the center. Give the stems a fresh cut to your desired length (measure next to your vase). Fasten the stems with a clear elastic. Use fresh cool water and a dash of flower food. Keep your tulips out of sunlight & away from heat (this makes them develop faster). Repeat fresh cut, fresh cool water & a dash of flower food daily. This will help them last longer! One more tip to help them last longer: put them in your fridge at night! Remember tulips grow 1/2” per day!
