Ambassador of the ORTLIEB Pro Team Jonas Deichmann is both, athlete and adventurer. In 2017 he set two World Records – first fastest cycling across Europe and second across Eurasia. It is then, when he decided to dedicate his time to a full time cycling career. During the latest project in 2018 - his toughest cycling challenge, he completed an unsupported record ride of the legendary Panamericana – 23,000 km in 98 days. Currently Jonas Deichmann is training for two new ultracycling world records in 2019, and is very excited to be part of the BikingMan race series as a preparation for it. BikingMan, the first unsupported ultracycling world championship, which was founded by the French explorer and world record holder Axel Carion in 2016, takes place in six different countries throughout the year. For the second time Oman is kicking off the BikingMan 2019 race series, which will later take place in Corsica, Laos, Peru, Portugal and Taiwan as well. In the toughest exploration cycling race of the Middle East, 80 athletes from 23 countries conquer the journey without external assistance - meaning the participants have to handle fueling, accommodations and repairs on their own. Starting in Barka City – Al Nahda Resort on February 24th at 3:00 am, the race continues around Al Hajar Mountains. 1,060 km and 7,500 meters of elevation gain later the participants will arrive the finish line in Matrah – Old Muscat.
