In this video, Francesco Martini, Trinity College Dublin, discusses how the sustainable forestry project ForES is accounting for forest ecosystem services through a natural capital approach. (Subtitled) ForES ('For Ecosystem Services') project is backed by Ireland's Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, and led by natural scientists at Trinity College Dublin (TCD) and University College Dublin (UCD). The team is working with stakeholders on specific Coillte forest sites. It will use the Bayesian Belief Network method to model forest management scenarios and use the natural capital approach and structured decision making to create a web tool to enable all foresters and landowners to make more sustainable data-driven decisions.
