South Coast Drive from Marseillan to Camping de la Plage FR | Road Trip Europe # 27

We had a lovely time on the expansive pitches on Domaine Villemarin (which is near Marseillan in the region of Bézier and Montpellier in southern France). Today we embark on a (short) journey to the bay of Saint Tropez. Our destination is our old haunt - camping de la Plage near Port Grimaud. It is a lovely drive along the coast, most notably south of Montpellier along the coastal roads. We then track inland and continue following the smaller roads. Whatever you do - avoid the highways... This area has many vineyards and some dramatic scenery, combining the sea air with green valleys. Our route took us around Montpellier, Nimes, Arles, Aix and followed the 'péage' around Brignoles and towards Le Luc where we crossed the Plaines des Maures to the bay of Saint Tropez. A good bit of road that offers some scenic variety if you're not in a particular hurry.
