VERROUST Etude #6 from 24 Etudes Mélodiques by S. Verroust. I've made several mistakes in my choices of what to record over the last year and a half... and here I made TWO mistakes - recording this extremely taxing etude TWO TIMES - once on C trumpet and once on Bb... hoping it would be easier on the Bb. I was wrong. I'll admit - this was probably one of the most challenging etudes to record for me. It took several days to get 2 "decent" takes and the equipment just kept getting smaller and smaller. I almost didn't post this, but I do believe in transparency... so ... This one is for all the haters out there - enjoy listening to the struggle! ;) BUT - Should you choose to comment negatively - I'll look forward to your forthcoming publicly available video! These etudes may be unfamiliar to many trumpet players - and rightly so! These were originally written for the Oboe, but I think they work quite well on the trumpet.
