It is raining again and everything is soaked and muddy. I was hoping it would not be raining up here, as often the weather differs not only in temperature, but sometimes it is sunny at home and raining here or, vice versa. When it stopped, I did go out for a bit and did some planting, weeding and tidying up. I noted damage from the rain again as the eaves are all messed up, and all the water from the roof spills over the eaves right under the cottage at the back of the cottage, or then onto the deck which runs off to below under the deck. The accumulating of rain spills onto the sand and washes the sand down to the beach area. The damage continues as it has been several rain storms that caused this damage. We are losing the sand as a result. I will be relieved when the new eaves go in. This is a frustrating situation as there is nothing I can do at the moment, and I am looking forward to the new eaves. It started to rain again but I managed to get some weeding done before heading back in. It continued into the evening, so I did not get to go back out and cleaned the cottage instead. Sunday was not much better, so I relaxed and had some ‘me’ time. When I went out later in the day, I did note paw prints in the sand and they are pretty fresh. I am not sure what they are from. Alan is not up and so it is not Wally. I will be extra vigilant when I am out though, and will have music going to keep animals away. I do not know what to do if it is a wolf or a coyote, I will have to google that. I do keep both doors unlocked just in case I need to make a quick entrance, but I am sure a wolf could out run me any day!! Yikes!!! It was sunny and warmer on Monday and I planned to do more weeding, work on the garden and more tidying up. After I finished weeding, I received a call that required me to head back home. It has been a difficult year and I have taken some time off to deal with many unexpected things. Lots of reflecting and re-assessing for me personally, family and work related. There were two unexpected losses, one being sort of anticipated but still difficult, but the other was not expected, and it really has taken a toll on me and the family. In addition to that there has been a lot of changes at work too, with some unexpected departures which called for longer hours for me, and additional days too. It has been exhausting and I needed to take the time to assess where things were at, and the direction of where they were heading. Lots of reflection was needed and I had to reset my priorities which impacted many things, including coming to the cottage as often as I have been accustomed to. ☹ When I was here, it was difficult to focus too, but slowly I am getting back on track. I very much needed this time for me, my family, and work too. I want you to know this and I am still adjusting and having some difficulty processing all this.
