Glenda’s 11.18.25 teaching topics were: 1) Set the mind free; 2) I had misunderstood what Tibetan Dzogchen teaches. “The practice of Dzogchen is a liberating natural non-practice of spontaneous occurrence and spontaneous release.” This is the self-arising and self-liberation of thoughts that naturally occurs if we leave the mind alone. 3) This practice is not a self-improvement practice. There is no self, and the self can’t be helped anyway. I was contemplating what I had experienced 11.15.25 about letting the mind unfurl to say whatever it was going to say without me wanting to change the thoughts or manipulate the thoughts or train the thoughts to be different. I realized Dzogchen is like what I hear the masters say: Cultivate Capital A Awareness that lets thoughts and feelings come and go without changing them, or attaching to them or pushing them away and just be – rest – interBe with the pure clearness as the thoughts come and go. This is what Dzogchen is the complete unfurling of the mind – setting the mind free - to let its thoughts spontaneously occur and spontaneously release just like Nypshul Khenpo Rinpoche said: “The practice of Dzogchen is a liberating natural non-practice of spontaneous occurrence and spontaneous release.” This is the self-arising and self-liberating of thoughts that naturally occurs if we leave the mind alone. I saw that Dzogchen is not a mind improvement training practice. It is the direct path to awakening to our innate clearlovelight nature. It is a practice of leaving things as they are. No matter what you are doing, suspend your attention within the nature of non-dual awareness and you will see that all images arise from the clearlight and liberate back into the clearlight automatically if we do not go into labeling good and bad and sorting resulting in “I want this, I don’t want that. I like this, I don’t like that.” All this sorting and labeling results in reactivity and suffering not conscious responses and peace.
