M.A.S.K. III - Venom Strikes Back was the second official M.A.S.K. game released in 1988 for the MSX. Its predecessor, M.A.S.K. II, was released a year earlier. MASK I unfortunately was only released for ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64 and Amstrad CPC. In this game you control Matt Trakker on his exploration of the moon, while looking for his brother Scott Trakker, who has been held captive by VENOM. Program: Fungus Graphics: Marcos Durde Audio: Ben "Benn" Daglish I've recorded this using openMSX 0.7.2 dev11343 (0.8.0 pre-release) for Mac. This MSX emulator is available for Intel and PPC Macs, Linux and Windows. Go to http://openMSX.sf.net to find out more about the openMSX emulator, or head over to http://openmsx.fixato.net to grab the latest Windows or Mac builds. In this recording I'll do a speedrun of this youth sentiment of mine. ;-) I'm quite satisfied that I finally beat the game, because when I was about 8 years old I kinda gave up on the game since I never got passed the rockets... This is a Tool Assisted Speedrun, as I make use of the new 'reverse' feature that's part of the latest openMSX builds. With it I can easily rewind my mistakes and try again, so you get to see the uninterrupted gameplay. Please read about the MSX standard on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MSX#MSX And about Colour-clash or Attribute-clash you are seeing in this video: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colour_c... A 'map' of the game is available at http://msxsolutions.msxblue.com/maps/...
