#gunnhildsundli #gåte #norwegianmusic #norway #eurovision2024 #tankerop #norskmusikk #trøndelag #rock #pop #magnusbormark #gaate @gunnhildsundli January 25th has been a particularly important date for me for two years now, as it was on this day in 2013 that Gunnhild Sundli's solo album, Tankerop (The Call of Thought), was released. The first single I heard from it, of course, was "Gi Mæ Fred" which I immediately fell in love with and decided to delve deeper into the album's backstory. I was surprised not to find lyrics online, so I started transcribing them myself, relying on my ear, and as I developed, I began to understand Trøndersk better and better (and also developed a special love for it, although, I admit, at first it was very difficult for me to separate the word "itj" from the words that followed it. Now I've learned to hear these nuances even in spoken language, for which I want to thank this album, as well as several wonderful people who helped me a little while working on it). Then I began the process of translating the songs, and the deeper I delved into it, the more I realized how insufficient simple knowledge of the language is, and how crucial it is to understand the context of life's events. And eventually, step by step, I pieced together a coherent picture of this album and was struck by its depth and thoughtfulness, the variety of details it contained, but most of all, by how much effort, emotion, and soul had been poured into it. Many of us are familiar with the image of Gunnhild as she appears in the songs of Gåte, but Tankerop is something completely different. Here, it's as if a door is opening to something more personal, as if we're turning the pages of a diary about her life and experiences (which is partially true). And this openness, honesty, and lack of fear in opening up to a large audience made me admire Gunnhild even more. And today, on the anniversary of the album's release, I decided to create a video in which I tried to convey my understanding of the songs from this album, which I hope is fairly close to the author's original vision. And I will never cease to be grateful to Gunnhild for this masterpiece, for this wonderful journey through personal transformation and experiencing various life situations, which listeners were honored to be a part of. 00:00 - Introduction and general thoughts 06:08 - Når E Tid 06:55 - Dræg and a bit about Trøndersk 08:12 - Glimt 09:23 - Du e nær 10:11 - Hele oss sjøl 10:44 - Lyset 11:37 - Endring and Tankerop 12:15 - Hjem and Sann 13:21 - Drøm, conclusions and gratitude
