Check that your data is missing at random (MAR) or completely at random (MCAR). This is a necessary condition in order to be able to conduct SEM. If your data is managed in SPSS, you can run a “Missing Value Analysis”. Multiple demonstrations of this test exist on youtube.com. 2. Ensure any missing data is coded with a specific value, e.g. -99. Do not leave blank cells in your dataset. 3. Ensure all values are numeric.
