Dr Rustom Soonawala, the leading gynaecologist in India, talks about the development of medical practices in his field from the 1940s. He discusses the effectiveness of contraceptives. Dr Rustom Phiroze Soonawala is at present Senior Consultant and Head of Department of Gynaecology at the Breach Candy Hospital and Max Healthcare, Delhi. He has been awarded the civil award of a Padmashree in 1991. He has been responsible for bringing new cutting edge technology to India for the his field since years and has been training doctors for years in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal as well. He is the foremost gynaecologist in India and South Asia. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
