This video shows the full timelapse of modeling a low poly drill tank in Blender as part of a daily game asset creation challenge. For Day 13, I focused on using bevels and extrusions to create detailed mechanical shapes efficiently. The tank body and drill mechanism were modeled with these techniques to maintain a low polygon count while keeping the silhouette interesting. The tread (caterpillar) part was more challenging, and I didn’t find an efficient way to model it this time. If you have any suggestions or ideas for creating treads efficiently, please share them in the comments! The model is designed as a stylized, game-ready vehicle for fantasy or sci-fi games. It uses a single shared color palette texture, with all colors assigned via UV mapping for easy reuse across the series. This model is planned to be available on CGTrader.
