After hatching from eggs, small sea turtles try to reach the water by avoiding predators. Sparkies is the name for baby turtles. The largest turtle in the world is the leatherback sea turtle. It can weigh more than 2000 pounds, or 900 kilograms. Sea turtles have special glands. They help them remove salt from the water they drink.
