Laying out the plan for a Godot add-on to support the development of immersive sim games. The toolkit will involve a variety of systems and tools, but the only things that are locked in right now are a tag system, and an interaction system. Tags let you categorise objects and give them data, then have those tags interact with each other in ways that support emergent gameplay. The interaction system provides a sender and receiver style framework that allows designers to easily place buttons, switches, and other things the player interacts with, and connect them to outputs like lights, doors, moving platforms, etc. If you have thoughts on the way we've described these systems, ideas for important imsim systems we've left out, or just want to talk about your game and how you can imagine using this toolkit in its development, leave a comment!
