Hazem Ameen (Caninebrush) Fantasy art book: Shrines of Araartu book flick through. This book is quite unique in it's fantasy theme with Middle Eastern legend mythology and inspiration, something I haven't seen in many art books. The book contains little stories to accompany each image. Those of you who are familiar with Even Mehl Amundsens fantasy art book series known as 'Tegn' will recognise this format and even similarities in the rendering style of the paintings throughout. This is no coincidence, I spoke to Hazem and he mentioned that the Tegn books and Evens art work was a large influence for him. For me, Hazems work really stands out, not just because of his skill at drawing & painting, but also his use of vibrant colours and design work. I find his work very motivating as an artist. You may already be familiar with Hazem Ameen's art work, even if you do not realise it, as he has featured in many of the 3Dtotal art books such as Character Design Collection: Fairy Tales & Folklore, Sketching from the Imagination: Storytelling, the Frank Frazetta tribute book and most recently, the Designing Dragons book.
