In this Episode I run through the whole process for making Seed Balls Using Leaf Mold IMO (Inoculant). I share the Seed Mix I'm using w/ Nitrogen fixing legumes for support plants in the food forest and apply and document the germination progress. Why make seed balls? By making seed balls you are adding an inoculant together with a blend of seeds, forming symbiotic relationships between beneficial micro organisms and plants from the very get-go. You Increase germination rates as Seed Balls (Seed bombs) are pre-planted remaining in a dormant state until broadcasted and activated w/ water. Plants grow better in a community, and this is a way to create community’s when sowing seed blends w/ companion plants (and trees) and target crops together. It is a great way to easily and equally distribute consortiums for food forests, Syntropic Agro Forestry Installations, Remediation zones (such as heavily clear cut and burn zones), wild flower blends, and garden beds to name a few. Instead of planting a seed, why not plant an entire ecosystem?
