Admiral City of Newport Half Marathon. With beautiful crisp weather i made my way down to Newport for the Half Marathon. A week after the Pontypool 10k run, where I struggled to breath...could I make up for that effort and post a good time? With nearly 2000 people at the start line and many more supporters lining the streets this was a race that promised so much... Drums banging, choirs singing, people cheering the Newport Half marathon did not dissapoint. I made a point of not going too quick at the start and see how my legs were, then after 2 miles I decided to let my legs go and attempt a P.B. (Person Best).... or even break the sub 1hr 30 mins target for 2024. At half way i was on target then came the tricky sharp hills, could I make it to the finish line in under 90 minutes...
