KC/In Conversation: "Store Design At The Speed Of Culture" Content Guy's Note: Last year, I had the opportunity to be part of a Retail Tomorrow session sponsored by the California Grocers Association (CGA) on the campus of the University of Southern California (USC), focusing on innovative and imaginative store design for a future that is now. Our guide was Deborah English of DL English Design - but this was neither presentation or prognostication. Rather, it was a session in which CGA members were empowered to use AI to come up with unorthodox approaches that would make them more competitive in the current marketplace - and it was terrific. Today, Deborah English and I discuss the format challenges facing every retailer today, and show the video produced by DL English Design that defined some of the cultural consumer trends that the participants could factor into their thinking. And we talk about why it is critical for retailers to design their stores "at the speed of culture."
