Decided to buy and test Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) after watching some videos on the internet. People use it mostly to remove protective cover of palladium containing capacitors and expose the MLCCs inside. Good alternative of burning the protective coating! DMSO is an organic solvent widely used in chemistry and to some extend in medicine. It has relatively high boiling point of 189 Degrees Celsius, so we can heat and speed up the reaction. Regarding toxicity, it is considered not toxic, with lethal dose above the ethanol one :) But, there is always one huge but :) It easily goes through latex gloves and after skin contact with DMSO you may be one of the "blessed" ones getting garlic taste in the mouth ... not permanent :)
