Charnley tired in the later rounds because of the terrific pace set by the 22 year old Ortiz. Although Charnley has the reputation of a slugger, Ortiz appeared stronger and more explosive tonight. Ortiz' sharp left-rights to the head had Charnley bleeding from a small cut under his left eye in the 3rd round and from a gash on his right brow in the 5th. There was no doubt about the verdict.
