I swear I'm not a sinner; just beautifully broken. fandom; please don't mention it pairing; (baby) batcat note; okay, so this started without a storyline and then sort of developed one along the way. Bruce has become Batman and Selina has become Catwoman, but their alter egos are enemies and neither knows who the other is. During the day, Bruce tries to reconnect with Selina, dreaming of their childhood, visiting her at her work and finding her at the party. It is there that they realize who the other one is and Selina is heartbroken at what Bruce has become. Accepting that there is a darkness in both of them, they continue to take on Gotham's criminal underbelly, together again. Later, the Joker attacks a party and becomes intrigued with Catwoman. During the fight, the Joker knocks Catwoman out of the window and Batman leaps out after her, hinting that she is important to Batman. The Joker has her kidnapped, teasing Batman that he's taken her. Joker escapes jail and goes to Selina, though she manages to toss him out the window, catching him before he hits the ground and respecting Bruce's no-killing rule. As Bruce arrives, however, the Joker sets off an explosion, killing himself and Selina.
