I loved getting to see NYC through the eyes of a visitor! Clay’s cousin was in town from Texas, so we gave her our version of the ultimate holiday in the city day. We kicked things off at Ralph’s Coffee on Madison Ave for coffee and hot chocolate. Despite in the rain, we made our way to The Met, which is one of my favorite places to take out-of-towners. It’s iconic for a reason: Met Gala, Gossip Girl, Percy Jackson… everyone knows The Met. It’s impossible to see everything in one day, so we stuck to the major exhibits (as seen in the video). From there we got lunch at Serafina, which is an Italian chain but always reliable in terms of quality. Then we wandered through the festive streets before heading to Wollman Rink in Central Park for ice skating. It's such a perfect holiday activity… just be warned, the skates will destroy your ankles. After, we walked down fifth avenue to see all of the beautiful department store windows. That brought us to Rockefeller Center, where we watched the skaters and saw the tree (which wasn’t lit yet, but still cool to see). Gabby wanted to buy a Jelly Cat, so we headed to FAO Schwartz, which I hadn’t been to since I was a child. I am happy to report that it feels just as magical at the age of (almost) 27 years old! We walked to Grand Central, admired the wreaths, lights, and of course the celestial ceiling. Grabbed banana pudding and cupcakes at Magnolia Bakery because… obviously. After 20,000+ steps, we finally sat down for dinner and inhaled basically everything. To finish the night, we went to Close Up, a tiny jazz club where a man in a fedora fully completed the vibe. It was such a beautiful day that reminds me how lucky I am to live in New York City. SOCIALS TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@julia_lawrenc...
