Consciousness, the fact of awareness by the mind of itself and the world.The state of being awake and aware of one's surroundings. We are aware of ourselves and our surroundings, but are we just another species among trillions in the Galaxy that has this ability, or are we rare indeed? At a certain point there had to be a first. After billions of years of evolution somehow somewhere it began to develop. When was it and who was it and are they still aware or are they long gone? In this video just another little system in a far off unnamed galaxy billions of light years away there sits a ringed planet with still evidence of small oceans and defined land but in this scenario they have come and gone. The first did not achieve a technology equal to us. They came, they saw , and they perished. They are back to bacterial life which is plentiful in the universe, but to achieve intelligent life must be so rare, but yet based on the numbers of planets there must be billions upon billions. Just imagine "just one billion advanced technological civilizations in the universe. That sounds like so many! Actually the number is so immeasurable that it would never be possible to find life. After all just our galaxy holds about 200-400 billion stars and if we are the only ones with life and there are billions that means we would have to average about 0.0001 planets per galaxy that harbor life.
