The first mid 4:36 achieved in PIGOAP any% history, involving a time save in 4-2, deemed "lightning 4-2", to save exactly one framerule, or 0.35s of time. My 8-4 speed was slightly slower than the one in my 4:36.844, being 8-9 instead of 8-B, two frames slower. I used a different 8-4 framerule than the original 679, which is 692. It grants perfect bowser patterns from 8-9 to 8-D (tas tie is 8-E) and there aren't any podoboo or hammer bro issues to worry about. That explains the extra five seconds worth of delay over the former 4:36.844 world record. 8-4 breakdown: 5-J-K(93)-9 The only time saves left are the fastest 1-2 framerule (I call it "Flying 1-2") and the 5 frames to save in 8-4, all in turnaround room to get frame 88. Both have been done full level (F1-2 by me, frame 88 by @Niftski), but as of right now, world record improvement is going to be stagnant (or at least no more than 2-4 frames) until somehow a run with both F1-2 and L4-2, both while simply performing the rest of the run, is achieved. UPDATE: If you check my 1-1 tas tie video, yes it is possible to get 4:35. However, attempting a feat like that would be extremely foolish. 💀 And with two hands it is theoretical that one can perform a 4:35.0, however that involves tas framerules in 8-1 and 4-2 that are both also have fully frame perfect requirements to get r00, and are more difficult than the rest of the entire speedrun tenfold. Safe to say, the record will probably only reach 4:36.1xx unless an easier strat is found to make a 4:35 seem a little more realistic. I will be looking to at least attempt such a grind of 4:36.1xx but I am not expecting to get anywhere any time soon. If the first session doesn't look very promising then I'll just practice for like a month and then try again.
