3D Sketch : https://www.3dmechanism.com/post/3d-e... Donate PayPal: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted... In this CAD tutorial we'll use the features: 1. Extrude What it is: The fundamental feature for building 3D solid geometry. How it works: You pick a closed sketch profile and extend it outward to add thickness and volume. Best used for: Forming the main structure of a part. 2. Offset Plane (Construction) What it is: Generates a sketch plane parallel to an existing face, but positioned at a defined distance from it. How it works: Situation: You need to sketch a feature that isn’t directly on the surface of your model. Fix: Choose a face (like the top surface) and offset a plane upward, say 50 mm. This lets you sketch in space while staying aligned with your base geometry. Best used for: Designing features on different height levels or layered sections. 3. Plane Along Path (Construction) What it is: Creates a sketch plane that stays perpendicular (90°) to a curve at a chosen point. How it works: Situation: You have a curved path and need to sketch a profile at its end, aligned to the curve’s direction. Standard origin planes won’t match the angle. Fix: Select the curve, and Fusion generates a plane that travels along it, almost like a cart on rails. Slide it to the end point (Distance = 1.0) to get the correct sketch orientation. Best used for: Preparing profiles for Sweeps or adding flat geometry to curved parts. 4. Hole What it is: A feature for creating precise drilled and threaded holes. How it works: Uses standard specifications (ISO, ANSI, etc.) to automatically size holes for specific fasteners (like M6 screws). Best used for: Mounting points, bolts, pivots, and mechanical connections. 5. Fillet What it is: A tool that smooths out sharp edges. How it works: Applies a radius to corners or edges. Best used for: Improving comfort in handled parts and reducing stress concentration in mechanical components.
