No copyright Feel free to share Boundless merit Amitabha Buddha 🙏🙏🙏 The Influence of Śākyamuni Buddha on Space and Time Let us continue to look further “So why is this so?” This is a question. Why? Because it was not through a few causes and conditions, but through immeasurable and countless causes and conditions, that the Buddha attained perfect enlightenment and appeared in this world. “Through ten kinds of immeasurable and countless hundreds of thousands of asamkhyeya causes and conditions, the Buddha attains perfect enlightenment and manifests in the world.” Such numbers are astronomical they are real, not symbolic. Let us take Śākyamuni Buddha as an example. According to the records of great Chinese monks and scholars throughout history, it has been 3,041 years since the Buddha’s parinirvāṇa (passing away). Foreign records often state about 2,500 years, so the Chinese records are about six hundred years longer. This difference is not crucial; both are based on authentic historical foundations. Chinese historical texts record that Śākyamuni Buddha was born in the 24th year of King Zhou Zhao, and entered parinirvāṇa in the 52nd year of King Zhou Mu. He lived eighty years according to the traditional Chinese reckoning (which counts the birth year), while Westerners say seventy-nine. After attaining enlightenment at the age of thirty, He devoted the rest of His life to teaching expounding the Dharma for forty-nine years. The influence of those forty-nine years spans the entire planet in space, and will extend for twelve thousand years in time. According to Chinese Buddhist understanding, we are now living in the Age of the Declining Dharma (Mofa). The Buddha’s teaching is said to pass through: The Age of True Dharma – 1,000 years The Age of Semblance Dharma – 1,000 years The Age of Declining Dharma – 10,000 years The first thousand years of the Declining Dharma have already passed; we are now in the forty-first year of the second millennium. How many beings have been influenced by the Buddha both those visible to us and those invisible? Buddhism teaches the Six Realms of Rebirth and the Ten Dharma Realms. These are not philosophical ideas, but descriptions of reality itself. From where did the Buddha perceive these truths? From deep meditative concentration (samādhi). A person who has truly attained deep meditation can transcend the limitations of space and dimensions, and communicate with beings of different realms this is not fiction. It has been discovered that beings in many other dimensions are even more profoundly influenced by Śākyamuni Buddha than the beings of our human world.
