MMAR COALITION AGAINST REPEAL Website: www.mmarcoalitionagainstrepeal.com Email: [email protected] Phone: 604-562-7731 May 28, 2013 Treating Yourself Magazine, Toronto, Ontario RE: 2013 Treating Yourself Expo Dear Friends; The members and supporters of the MMAR Coalition Against Repeal would like to sincerely thank your staff, organizers, booth facilitators and most importantly, the more than 20,000 people who attended for hosting another highly successful Annual Treating Yourself Expo. Your tireless efforts to build awareness and generate interest in 'medicinal cannabis' and to provide alternative medicine users with conscientious, ethical and reliable information for the management of their medical needs and to provide them safe and reliable products is greatly needed and appreciated. Education and support for patients, designated growers and their caregivers and has united the cannabis community and through knowledge has created common ground and a better understanding of the mutual interests between recreational and medicinal cannabis consumers. The Coalition would like to sincerely thank Treating Yourself Magazine for publishing an article in your most recent issue on our efforts to secure the existing 'regulatory option' to personally or designated production of medicinal cannabis under the MMAR. As you are aware, the proposed MMPR eliminates personal and designated cultivation of medicinal cannabis and reserves this right for several large commercial cultivators of the government's choosing. At the present time, the Coalition is also attempting to raise funds to finance the legal action and have engaged the legal services of John Conroy QC to file a legal action in federal court to stop some or all of At the present time we are gathering Impact Statements at: www.mmarcoalitionagainstrepeal.com and www.johnconroy.com/mmarcoalition from individuals enabling them to defend their right to personal production and to express their perceived concerns over the anticipated 400% increase in cost and loss of strain specific genetics required to produce effective treatments. The Coalition greatly appreciates your time, interest and efforts on behalf of medicinal cannabis and its patients and we look forward to working with you. Sincerely, Jason F.
