It took all 3 Clawmark runes to get him as close to death as possible so the poison could finish him off. You have to be really quick to get the backstab in because it puts him very close to the half-way mark where he dissapears. It technically is under 30 seconds with my last hit coming in at 23 seconds, he just takes a bit to die later.
