Esplanade Concert Hall | 22 June 2019 Young Virtuoso Series: Piano Extravaganza Guest-of-Honour: Mrs Goh Chok Tong ‘He delivered two Chinese songs in wispy arrangements with great delicacy and a medley of Strauss dances with great elegance.’ The Straits Times (24 Jun 2019) Ziliang graduated from the Royal College of Music, London with a Masters of Music in Performance (Distinction) under the tutelage of Gordon Fergus-Thompson. He has also studied at the Moscow Conservatory with Mikhail Petukhov. His studies in Russia and UK were sponsored by the Trailblazer Foundation. Upon his return to Singapore in 2012, Ziliang teaches and contributes to the development of the arts through performances and has commissioned musical works based on Singaporean themes, such as the Laksa Cantata by Chen Zhangyi. Ziliang is conversant in Russian and worked as an interpreter for Bolshoi and Mariinsky Ballet during their tour at Esplanade Theatre. With a philosophy to build inclusivity in society through arts education, Ziliang works to bridge cultures and communities through music. In his free time, Ziliang enjoys cycling at East Coast Park, reading and exploring hawker centres for local delicacies!
