Finishing an MLB season with a batting average over .400 hasn't happened since 1941 when Ted Williams recorded an average of .406. Over 80 years have passed and nobody has been able to do it since. There were a couple close calls, and even Luis Arraez just last year heard a lot of talk about hitting .400. It just doesn't seem to happen anymore. There is an explanation for this, and in this video I go through and try to find that explanation. Different approaches, new techiniques and more aspects of modern baseball hinder plays from reaching the seemingly impossible mark. 0:00 Intro 1:13 1941 was a lot different 5:09 Modern approach to hitting 8:05 Strikeouts are cool now 8:57 Expected batting average 11:32 Tony Gwynn couldn't even do it 12:50 Neither could Ichiro! 13:31 Outro #baseball #mlb
