Co-hosts Cate and Irving Steel invite Takima Robinson and Nick Brundage from the Connecticut Association of Human Services to Stories Worth Telling to share their efforts helping some of the poorest throughout the State of Connecticut to help create more financial literacy and freedom. There are many opportunities to support and provide services back to the community by volunteering with such programs as the Connecticut Money School. The community is stronger together when we are able to provide meaningful jobs and employment to people that enable them to live better lives. Helping people to file their taxes and earned income tax credits also allows people to create more financial freedom as well. About Cate Steel: Cate Steel is an educator, nonprofit executive, and mother. By focusing on some of the hardest populations, Cate spent over 35 years working collaboratively with parents and families of children in education. She also dedicates her experience to the community as the President of the Board for ArtReach, a creative healing nonprofit in Norwich, and The Connecticut Storytelling Center, which inspires through storytelling. An avid painter, gardener, and musician, Cate flexes her creative interests. Raising a family in East Lyme over the last 20+ years, Cate has a mission to dedicate her passion to the community by serving in government.
