Watch and listen closely, because what I am about to say in this video may help you understand why you can not engage your gluteus when training! If this ends up saving your butt, then you are welcome 😉 . Ok, so last week I posted a video about the first out of a pair of gluteal nerves. I talked about the superior gluteal nerve, which as you know already, supplies some of the muscles in the gluteus group. If you have not watched that video, stop reading this - head over to my page and watch the superior gluteal nerve video and then come back here. It will make more sense! . So now that you are back, let’s move on to the second nerve. The INFERIOR gluteal nerve. I am going to go out on a limb here and say that you may have not come across this nerve before. I am not trying to insult your knowledge, I am just saying that it is not really as talked about as its superior big brother. But, I actually think the inferior could be slightly more important. . See, the inferior gluteal nerve supplies non-other than, the big daddy - GLUTEUS MAXIMUS. This is huge because most people think that the sciatic nerve supplies that, but obviously - is incorrect. When you watch my video, you will see that the inferior gluteal nerve goes really close to the sciatic nerve, which means that compression to the nerve is highly likely. It is also close to the piriformis muscle. . 📽 If you want to watch the full lecture, and learn more about this nerve, head over to my Bulletproof Back, Spine & Hips course and you will be able to check it out there. . #muscleactivation #gluteus #gluteusmedius #gluteusworkout #functional #functionalfitness #functionalmovement #anatomy #anatomyart #anatomystudy
