Protesters clash in New York during memorial for Iran's Khamenei | ABS-CBN News

Protesters clashed in New York on Friday (March 6) during a memorial for Iran’s late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The memorial was held under New York's iconic Washington Square Arch as counterprotesters waved U.S., Israeli and pre-revolution Iranian flags behind police barricades before a lone protester disrupted proceedings, when he grabbed Khamenei portrait from a memorial table. Police detained the individual, as both demonstrations continued into the evening. The expanding war in Iran entered its second week on Saturday (March 7) amid renewed uncertainty about how or when hostilities will end, as U.S. President Donald Trump declared he would only accept Tehran's "unconditional surrender" and Israel traded fresh attacks with Iran and Lebanon.
