Creating the Shao Kahn war hammer

I was commissioned to create a custom 15kg Rawform war hammer in the likeness of legendary hammer from Mortal Kombat's, Shao Kahn. I really enjoyed bringing this piece to life, I got to test new techniques and work with leather for the first time wrapping a handle. This is a beautiful beast of a hammer that has been build to last lifetimes. It can split logs like they are nothing but also looks majestic enough to have as a show piece. This hammer will be used as a functional fitness tool for very experienced mace and hammer practitioners. It's used to build strength and create a heightened awareness, connecting the swinger with the hammer. In this video I show some of the process of building this unique piece of functional art.
